About Us

Anthony Brooklere bought his first pharmacy (College Hills Pharmacy) in January of 1968. The store was located across from the beautiful campus of Birmingham Southern College and quickly became a successful venture. In November of 1968 Anthony opened a second store (Brooklere Rexall Pharmacy) in Forestdale, Alabama. Since the Forestdale store grew quickly, Anthony sold the College Hills store to another independent pharmacist/businessman.

Anthony's son Johnny followed in his father's footsteps by attending Auburn University's School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1985. Anthony partnered with Johnny and the two purchased a second family-owned business (Adamsville Pharmacy) in downtown Adamsville, Alabama.

The Brooklere father/son duo combined the two pharmacies in 2003 and built a beautiful new building to house the thriving business. When the opportunity presented itself in 2010 to purchase the property and building in Alabaster, Alabama (previously occupied by Wood Pharmacy), the Brookleres added another store to the family business. Additionally, a third store was added in August of 2015 when the Brookleres purchased David's Pharmacy and Gifts in Sumiton, Alabama.
